Who is this Mrs. Hill lady?
My name is Mrs. Hill. I am a graduate of LSU, but was born and raised in Geneva, Illinois (outside Chicago). I teach Scholastic Academy/Gifted Resource at Woodlawn Elementary in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I have been teaching for twenty years, and have been at Woodlawn for twelve years. After venturing out of the 4th Grade realm and into the Gifted and Scholastic Academy world has been a new chapter for my teaching. I love to explore, collaborate and examine unique projects and topics with my students.
A few years ago, I earned my National Board Certification. In 2016, I was honored with Woodlawn's Teacher of the Year. Back in 2010, I was awarded the Milken Educator’s Award. This was a huge honor, and I could not have won this if it wasn't for my family, colleagues, friends, and students. All of these honors and certifications are great, but the most prestigious honor for me is to hear back from former students. I love to hear about all the amazing things they have been up to. So kiddos...keep in touch, I want to hear all about your future life adventures. I am looking forward to this year, and can't wait to see the places we will go in our classroom.
Our word this year: "BELIEVE"
Our class motto: We Can. We Will.
